1.7.07 offset shape inwards does not work?

Hello guys, any ideas why my inward offset shape does not work? It works with both (inward and outwards) and also when I select outwards only, but in this case it does both inwards and outwards (same as when I select both)
Thanks in advance!

If we could see what ā€œthis caseā€ looks like, we could be far more helpful.

With that in mind: If the shape is not closed, then it has no ā€œinsideā€ and the offset will apply to both sides of the lines forming its perimeter.

If Edit → Select Open Shapes selects what you think should be a closed shape, that’s the problem.

You nailed it! Thanks so much, I verrified and the shape was indeed open (even though I thought I closed it with edit nodes. I didn’y know that " If the shape is not closed, then it has no ā€œinsideā€ and the offset will apply to both sides of the lines forming its perimeter". I am a bit ashamed, and learned something the hard way. Thanks again Ed!
