100w not firing over 4ma

I can not get my laser to fire over 4ma. I have a new 100w reci 6090 with a ruida controller. I have max power set to 50% on the controller. When i press pulse on the controller i read 24ma on the test pulse, however, when i run a program from lightburn, even cutting a line at 100% it will not fire over 4ma. I would like to set so when 100% on lightburn it fires at the 24ma since the controller is set to max out at 50%. I have been pouring over settings and forums for 2 days and im at a loss at this point. I run my k40 just fine but this is a new beast for me

Thanks in advance

Did you set both Min and Max power, or just Max? What speed were you trying to cut at?

I have min and max at 10% and 50% respectively. Was cutting at 5mm/sec at 100% power on lightburn. Ruida rdc6445gz controller, 100w 6090 chinese co2 on windows 10 laptop.

On a Ruida controller (and most DSPs) the controller starts using ‘Min Power’, and as the speed passes a setting called the Start Speed (or corner speed), it ramps up toward Max Power. If your cut never goes faster than that Start Speed setting, it only uses the Min Power, not the max. The default for this on a Ruida controller is 10mm/sec, so that’s the most likely reason you’re not getting power.

If cutting slowly, set Min and Max power to the same number.

It sounds like that is definitely the issue then. I appreciate the reply with the information. What if I was to just turn down the start speed? Or is that not possible?

You can do that too (in the machine settings), but just understanding that it works this way is a good start. Set Min / Max the same when cutting slow and you won’t have any trouble.
