I am new in lightburn and diode lasers yet i owned a 10 watt elegoo phecda laser and set in with the lightburn. watched all the videos and checked all the parameters, focusing done and i am using full air asist with the honeycomb. where i am doing wrong that i can barely cut a 1mm cardboard with 100 mm per minute and 100 percent power with the material test results coming over and over in same. need help or anything that i am missing .
Check that the value of S Value Max in Edit->Device Settings matches the value of $30 in Edit->Machine Settings.
Other than that, make absolutely sure that the units is mm/min for your speed.
S value max checked and both are 1000 as it should be.
unit is mm/min
i think i am failing in focusing yet i don’t know how to figure it out i made ramp test to see the finest point as advised from some laser users but i think x and y coordinates are not cutting same. when i made a square it is cutting horizontal more better than vertical sides.
This is likely due to the laser dot being asymmetric.
Don’t compare X against Y for the ramp test. Simply identify the thinnest line for either X or Y.
Also make sure your lens is clean and free of debris. Look for any damage in the lens.
i cleaned the laser lens and was not visible any damage or dirt anyways. i am starting to think it is not powerful enough to cut 1.4 mm leather with 300 mm/min with 100 percent power which most 10-watt laser owners can cut way thicker leather. I asked the elegoo if it is possible to purchase the 20 watt module separately.
