18w grbl diode laser cutting issue in diagonals

Hi, i’m having a problem cutting in diagonal. If i cut a square, no problem but with angles (45° for example), the laser don’t go through the 5mm plywood.

It’s like if when the laser use X and Y motors it goes quicker so it don’t cut well. I don’t know if i explain it well as english not my first language.

Is there a parameter in lightburn to correct this problem ? I tried constant power ON/OFF to see any difference, nothing. I’m using 400mm/min, 80% power, 2 passes. I also cut from a Raspberry Pi with octoprint (should not interfer) because i had disconnections connecting directly by usb.

Tks for reading me guys.

Congrats and welcome, glad you found Lightburn and this forum.

Did you change any GRBL settings?
If not try 600mm/m 85% power and 3 passes…

Ty for your answer and the welcome message

I changed 3 settings, i lowered the X Y Z accel from 1000 to 250 mm/s² (Z is useless but…) because it was a bit too fast from my foldable table. Didn’t touched anything else.

I will try 600mm/m 85% power and 3 passes but why do you think it will change the diagonal result ? Ty anyway !

This sound like a machine problem not a Lightburn setting.

My first idea is that the power supply is too weak for your setup. If both axis move simultaneously, it seems the motors draw too much power, such that the laser power is reduced. Or can you exclude this option?

I never told it was a Lightburn issue

I don’t know, the power supply was in the kit, i will try to see if i have another one that could fit. Thx

I’ll shut up now.
