As an example, 2.8 W diode laser, what if this applies should the minimum percent power set at?
Reason, I had my 2.8W set at 0 % minimum power and it my laser seemed to be making “hammering” sound as it was trying to laser / etch white tile painted black. Or dose it make a difference minimum % setting?

If someone corrects me, go with their opinion. That said, I expect your diode laser to use the GRBL controller. If I remember right, MIN power in Lightburn is not used for this controller. Your actual minimum power is where the laser barely lights up.
I am not sure why you hear the hammering (pulsing?) sound. My diode (5.5w) does not do that, so I suspect you have LB set for a dot mode. Read up on cutting thick materials to get more info. Another possibility is that your power supply is going into an overload mode. The Wizard OZ of Lightburn might be able to provide additional help.
