Good Day all. Been a while since I’ve posted anything. I thought it would be a nice change to send my customer in Florida a sample of a Full Wrap on some of her 20oz tumblers. She’s fine with just having Panama City Beach FL along with a sea turtle, starfish, etc… on them. I thought lets give it a whirl anyway.
I’m pretty sure sure can place the “tappered” tumbler in the chuck so it’s level from top to bottom, but of course the diameter changes from top to bottom. Is it possible on a tappered tumbler? Can anyone just lead me in the right direction possible to explore the idea?
V1.7.08 was pretty stable. V2.0.0 was a major rewrite using an updated core language, but is reasonably stable at v2.0.04 with a few video display hints needed. Search the Forum for your specific machines for any other possible issues.
That Etsy tumbler also has curved sides. Ask the vendor if the SVG compensates for the curve and taper.
I did the upgrade, but have a head scratcher… My tumblers are 20oz, and what I thought is right. I can’t level the tumbler all the way across from top to bottom. I put a spirit level on it, and obviously can’t get both end level.
Does this matter? I know the new software has taper capabilities, but what about focus distance on the tumbler itself?
Another thing that just hit me. I bet I have to run this if possible on my CO2 -vs- my Fiber as well. I was sitting in front of my fiber this a.m. and it hit me. How will the fiber engrave the lower portion of it???
Update: Got my 1st Tapered 20oz wrap tumbler done.
Thanks to all that helped me get here. Done it my Fiber with a 200 lens on it. I’ve got more work to do though. It took 22 minutes to complete. That won’t work, if I had to do 50 or so, or ever higher for my customer in Florida.
Current settings for were:
Speed-800, PWR-50, Freq-50, LPI 500
I don’t want to show them any samples until I know I get the processing time down A LOT
Going to try to play around with settings today, if I can get some time.

2nd round. Faster settings. Speed 1500, PWR-75, Freq-25. 18 minutes. Still way too slow for production work. For me anyway.
I think, I’m going to pretty much come up with a different idea.
All my tumblers have a SS band at the top and bottom.
I’m going to put artwork around the circumference of the tubler near the top. In the general area where they like to put “Panama City Beach Florida”. The artwork will start around 1/2” past “Florida”, and use around 6 or 7 pieces of artwork until it gets back to “Panama”. It’s a wrap, but not using all the available space, up and down, top to bottom. In addition to that, I’ll burn a 5mm band underneath the artwork all the way around it.
I just ran another test with FASTer settings, and it was still around 18 minutes. No Go for me in that regard.
