3d slice on Rotary negative image

Hi! new here
This question may have been asked but i couldn’t find in search.

I got a 200w fiber Galvo laser, lightburn 1.7.03, 3 jaw rotary and i havent tried this yet!

Wondering if even be possible to engrave a depth map negative image on a steel die using a 3 jaw rotary?

Would like to try pressing elongated coins maybe. If so is there any suggestions before i try this?

3dslice only works on flat images, so it should work on your die.

No reason you can’t use that on the die, by inverting the image and using 3dslice.

It does a pass then rotates the laser beam 90 degrees for the next pass then back to zero. Mainly because it doesn’t line up pixels very perfect if you are moving in any other way.

Good luck
