780 inch orange line just appears?

For some random reason (may not be random but I can’t figure a pattern out) a 780 inch long orange line just appears on my drawings.
It can be vertical, or horizontal but is always 780 inches long.
It is easy to just delete it, but it would be nice to know why it shows up.
The center always seems to be on the edge of the assigned drawing space.

Is it a combination of key strokes? or does it mean something to the drawing?

That’s a guide line:

You get a guide line by clicking-and-dragging from the workspace ruler, which is remarkably easy to do when you’re aiming for something close to the edge of the workspace.
