my 20oz Aqua Tumblers. It’s nothing new. It was this speed last winter when I was preparing a customers spring order.
I wonder sometimes if it wouldn’t be better to run 2 passes but at higher speeds / power…. This particular color from my supplier has kind of a “slick” feel to it, -vs- that grainy feel with other colors from them. Funny how some colors need completely different settings to achieve the same result with the same design.
50W JPT machine, running at SPEED - 80 / PWR 28 / Freq 50 / LPI - . 0275. This not a full wrap. Just the front approx 4” across.
Yep, everything affects everything! I found that sub freezing temps affect my engraving on metal cups. Now when it’s frosty outside, I will fire up the diesel heater to get the workshop to 60 degrees or more and heat up the cups to chase off the cold, before I begin. Even my old laptop struggles in the cold.
I also have seen that the color and the surface finish make a difference. Blue color takes more to engrave than other colors (diode laser) and glossy takes more than flat.
Well, I never try to engrave in the shop when it’s below 50 degrees anyway. I don’t like the cold, and luckily I’m in the mid-south. This aqua color always drives me nuts. I’ve started on her order since I already had 25 of them in the house. Just going to take a while. I’m placing her order tonight. When I get the time, I may play with speed and power, but not until I get these 25 done, and the other 25 dark blue done. I’ve got until March anyway….
