A Parts Home Measurement

How do I get the measurement on a part (whose origin is already in the lower left) to be 0,0 when in the lower left of the workspace? For example, if I have a 5” x 5” square whose origin is in the lower left, and I move the square to the lower left in the work space (which is 0,0) it measures to the right of the part in the X position and the Y position (which adds 5” to the X and Y position).

Thanks for the help!

Your example was difficult to follow so I may have misinterpreted. If the scenario is that you want the lower-left of the square to sit at 0,0 but you want to use the upper-right part of the square as reference to the position indiciator then do the following:

  1. position square correctly in workplace by selecting square and either using “Move to lower left of page” or by inputting 0,0 into numeric controls toolbar while position origin is set to lower-left.
  2. Change position origin to upper-right. Note that the X,Y position values change.

Thank you! That helped me to understand. I hope you and your family have a Happy New Year!
