Thank you so much for the information! I was finally able to get a single tool cutout to work. How did you get all the tool cutouts into one file as shown in your post?
How did you nest them as desired then Group them all together and do a Boolean Union to absorb the finger grips into the tool shapes.
As seen in my screen capture, The Boolean Union and many other selections are not available. So, how do I get all the tools into one LightBurn file?
I’d imagine that after tracing each image, you can just arrange each file in a single LightBurn file. I would probably just hand arrange them all, and use the scissors tool because its a bit more visually easy to use than the booleans.
If you have a LightBurn file for each shape, you can drag and drop LightBurn files from Windows Explorer into LightBurn to add them all together, or use ‘File > Import’
Yes, as mentioned, the ‘nesting’ of each of the outlines was done manually… I’ve always preferred putting things in the drawers the way ‘I’ want to, not the way some spatial algorithm wants to. The placement of the finger holes was also done manually by myself and based on how I would normally pick up that particular tool. Since all of the profiles were closed polylines, the Boolean tool worked flawlessly.
Your Boolean tools are probably not showing because you seem to have offset (read:double) profiles and may not have ‘closed’ outlines (paths). Also with that single finger hole the double profile lines the results might not give you what you are expecting.
I just discovered this morning a traced image (single outline of a filled black image) would not Node Edit or Scissors Tool. Convert to Path was greyed out, so it was definitely a path. Major head scratching! Then I noticed the Group Guy was dark. It was just a single line, but ungrouping turned everything on.
I did not expect you could Group a single vector path.
