ACI DFL Ventus Marker

Hello everyone, I would like to ask if a ACI DFL Ventus Marker (actually working with MagicMark) would work with Lightburn.
Thanks

If it works with Lightburn, depends on the type of controller it has.

Can you talk to it via usb?

If you can’t connect to it with the OS then Lightburn won’t be able to find it.

Can you post a link to the machine. I looked at one of them and they made no mention of any other software except their own.

Maybe @gilaraujo know… hang in there

:smiley_cat:

I have never seen this before.
@Scalahouse Do you have access to this hardware?

Can you see how it presents itself in the Device Manager on Windows?
The driver it uses can tell us a lot about the hardware.

@jkwilborn thanks!

Appears to be German … none of the things I’ve seen on them advise on the control board type and never mention anything but their own software.

Thanks … never know if it’s just me sometimes.

:smiley_cat:

Does not look like a Ezcad or seacad reskinned software to me.

High odds to be proprietary both hardware/Software :frowning:

I found a manual on one of them, but I’m not sure if it’s the one they have.

dfl_ventus_marker.pdf.txt (4.9 MB)

And a site that mentions them.

No, unfortunately I don’t have access to the driver information in Device Manager, as the connected laptop is restricted by admin login. I’ll have to ask the IT department to log in with their credentials.

But I have a better idea: tonight I’ll install Lightburn on my personal laptop and tomorrow I’ll connect it to the laser device to test it.

Thanks for your help

Yeah they don’t mention much at all…

I have tried to see if works with Lightburn trial version, but it doesn’t reconizes the machine.

Thank you Danilo

That is interesting.

I have never seen a galvo on FTDI drivers before.
Can you confirm if you unplug USB the FTDI driver closes off?

This means the controller is not a EZcad or BSL compatible and something, probably custom.

I will inquire internally to see if anyone in the Dev team could shed some light. But the probabilities of out-of-the-box support on LightBurn are slim.

Thanks for your analysis. Yes I confirm that once the USB wire is unplugged the ftdi driver closes off. Same for two other ports for the cameras.
