Adding more than 1 set of text to path on a circle

I’m trying to make a sign similar to the one in this link but I can’t figure out how to boolean all of it. I can only boolean EITHER the names OR the date, but not both?

Boolean only works with 2 items or groups of items. Either perform the operation in 2 steps or group the name and date together before attempting the operation.

I’m sorry, can you elaborate on that more so I know exactly what order to do everything in?

upload the lbrn2 file that you’re working with and I will walk you through it.

Ignore everything off to the right. I’m trying for something like the images on the left

I don’t have that font on my computer so the first step for me was to convert the names and date to a path. You can skip that step.

The first step for you is to select the name and shift select the date, then group together.

Once those are grouped select all 4 circles and group them. Then shift select the grouped text and open Boolean Assistant. Choose Union.

Now your text and circles are joined. The bike is not a closed path so I had to ungroup it, use the Close Selected Paths with Tolerance command under the edit menu to close it. Then I regrouped the outline with the rest of the bike.

After that I was able to join it with the circles by selecting the bike then shift select the circles and open Boolean assistant and choosing union.

That should get you where you want to be. If you dont want the inner text on the bike cut out, ungroup it and change the text to a fill layer.

Ah! Any idea why it’s not allowing me to group the names and the date together?

Maybe it’s something with that font. I thought it was because it wasn’t on my system. Right click on the names and convert to path, then right click again and group. Repeat for the date. Then you should be able to group them together.

One thing I noticed is the date needs to be enlarged just a little bit for a clean cut. Do that before grouping the names with it.

Ok, I’ll work on all of this. If I can get myself past that first step, I can follow the rest of your instructions. Thank you so much!! I really appreciate the help!
