After clicking start, laser (I assume the laser) starts making a ‘heating up’ noise but will not move or burn.
This really confused me
Any chance you could record in video the machine behaviour?
A fan noise would probably be more appropriate. Unable to upload the video
Could you specify which machine exact and laser module
Also in consold does any error output?
Ortur laser master 2. Laser model number LU1-4. Error message occurs right after clicking start that says “Cut might be out of bounds due to overscan settings - Continue anyway?”
Do this for me
a) confirm you have a 12v 3amp power adapter
b) try to start a engrave, then scroll all the way up in console window, and copy the ful content here
c) take a full screenshot of your lightburn
You are trying to engrave a grid correct?
Problem seems to be 2 things
a) your line might be JUST at the very edge and touching the outside of the grid
b) your OLM2 is a 400x430 (430 on Y)
So to be able to do what you are trying to do you need to be sure of a few things
a) if your grid is an image, make sure the overscan is turned off
b) if its a vector make sure the total size is within 400x430, easy way to do this is to Save Gcode, save it to desktop say
Open Gcode in a Notepad/text editor, copy/paste here the header maybe 10 top lines?
Correct.
G-code:
; LightBurn 0.9.24
; GRBL device profile, absolute coords
; Bounds: X-1.2 Y0.75 to X401.4 Y399.15
G00 G17 G40 G21 G54
G90
M4
; Image @ 4920 mm/min, 80% power
M8
G0X-0.8Y0.75
G0Z0
; Layer C00 Pass 1 of 2
G91
G1X2.05F4920S0
G1X397.9S677.2
Before, I was able to frame out the grid. It will no longer frame it. Not sure if that’s pertinent information.
Notice here where it says “Bounds”
your machine is trying to go from X-1.2 to X401.4
Y seems to be fine within 0-430
So i thikn all you need to do is nudge the vector to be sure its inside
or if a image, like i said, make sure you turn off the overscan
I suspect overscan is whats making your X go a little over each side
Found the over scan and turned it off. Fingers crossed
It’s working! Thank you so much! I’m a newbie, if you couldn’t tell!
Lets hope that is the problem
Any particular reason you’re using such an older version of LightBurn? There have been significant improvements to the program since that version.
No reason at all. I was just new to it all a couple of years ago and then put it away for awhile. Now learning it all over again. Updating now. Thank you!
Any tips on setting for burning this grid on a 12mm thick piece of birch plywood? Is there somewhere I can get more educated on these settings? The 0 X-axis first pass did well but the rest can’t be seen.
the advantage of Lightburn is you can create your own grid per se
However be mindful that the only way the grid will be of use if if you bold the machine down to it, otherwise it will lose reference
Also in ortur facebook group theres tons of grids premade. i dont have any off hand sorry
