I am making an air assist for my laser. Can I use PLA or does it need to be ABS?
If you make anything for your laser on your 3d printer make sure of the material.
Some materials are not safe to ‘lase’ and can produce hazardous gases.
You should be OK with pla, but abs produces hydrogen cyanide (HCN) I believe. Same thing used in the gas chamber, probably not what you want to breath… It is also very corrosive to the machine/electrical parts.
Might try searching this site for a nozzle design, there are a number of them floating around.
Printing this one now, don’t think it will ‘screw right on’ but I’ll have a look at it. I’m printing it with pla +.
