Hello, I wanted to resume this problem that it reports to me in my mks dlc 32, and I can’t find the solution in case you can help me

My MKS DLC32 gives me the ALARM:1 in Lightburn when one of the hard limiit switches is triggered.
If there no limit switch are beeing hit check:
If the limit switches are configured as NO (Normaly Open) you should have a limit switch jammed.
If the limit switches are configured as NC (Normaly Close) you should have a limit switch broken or a disconnected cable.
($5)

If the limit switches are not installed you need to desable (turn to “false”) limit switches on your machine board (MKS DLC32) $21

Look for your travel machine limits.
There is an earlier topic about the same ALARM

Hard limit activated. The position of the machine is likely to be lost due to a sudden and immediate stop. Startup is strongly recommended.

The machine travel can be exceeded by asking LightBurn to engrave outside the work area.

To find if there is something out of bounds type these two things.

This will zoom out to see everything.

if nothing is outside the green box work area then check to see if the overscan is too high or if incorrect speeds are creating excessive overscan.

Click Preview icon at the top.

Use the mouse wheel to zoom out to see the whole work area

Set the Show Traversal Moves switch to on.

Please capture your screen with a screen capture tool if you need additional advice for this.

Hello, I have followed the instructions that you gave me, and there is nothing outside the workspace, only the cube in the center of it and I have checked the box as indicating transverse movement, and the same thing continues, I will try to send a screen copy, excuse the google translations
I have changed the mechanical limit switches, both in nc and n and there is no solution either, because I discard

If it’s something near Line 4 we should test the Jog behavior.

2023-06-26_06-36-39 move window

Please set the Move window settings to these values and confirm that mm/minute is applied to them. If the units are mm/second we should change that, or use a speed of 50mm/second.

With both of these settings entered, test your engraver jog function by pressing the Compass arrows, around the ‘Home’ and confirm that the arrows move the engrave head in the expected distances and directions.

Please let us know if this is correct.

hello this puts me now and it does not let me make any movement, the program, but if from the mks screen, it lets me move and the x goes to the right, and the y to the front, I think the direction is fine, but the homing does not
info
Homing fail
Please unlock

In the middle, “Pn:PXY” says that the homing switches are both triggered. It won’t home in this state. If you have unplugged them, and you see this message, they are configured in the Normally Closed state. This is generally the superior method because the machine will stop if the wiring breaks. You will have to plug the the switches back in to close the circuit and deactivate the switches.

If the switches are plugged in and configured backwards in the software (or wired incorrectly) they will read ‘activated’ as they are now and read deactivated (or cause an interesting problem) when pressed.

For a very short term test, Get to this same point. Watch the console window, and press one of the switches. If the laser disconnects, the switch wiring is wrong, it is shorting power directly to ground and relying on the ‘current limiting’ of the power supply.

If nothing seems to happen, put a small piece of tape on the switches and retest homing. Homing is likely to fail because the switches will stay in the wrong state but you should have movement.

If you taped the switches shut, Please type the following into the Console window in LightBurn:
?
then press Enter.

This should remove the PXY state.

Please select and copy the results from the question mark, (the Status Report) and paste it into a reply here.

I look forward to this answer.

I have carried out the indicated steps, and I have passed, as indicated to the last step, and I put what the command gives in the console? I paste what he answers ok

Pn:PXY means the switches are triggered.

I find here that GRBL historically wants normally open limit switches.
If you are using a provided firmware, this could be the reason. I do not know the MKS DLC32 factory configuration.

You might need to reverse the Machine Setting at $5
if $5=0 change this to $5=1
if $5=1 change this to $5=0

You may need a pull-down resistor.
This may be worth review.

@JohnJohn
I am working with a board like this.
I have hard limit switches working. Do you want to see some parameters of mine? I have my machine at home not here at my job location.

I’m always interested in configs and settings.

If we don’t know how the switches are set up, Normally Closed or Normally Open, we can’t definitively set $5.

Later on I paste them here

@paco1 , I had some troubles configuring mine correctly. Step by step i achieved the desired settings.

Hello, thanks, I’m going to try this configuration, I have the limit switches at y+, x-, looking at the machine x to the left, and in front, the closest to one, will I have to change them?
