Alarm 2 when I try to just move the position of my laser

I am just trying to move my laser position to a spot on my grid and it gives me this message
ALARM:2
G-code motion target exceeds machine travel. Machine position safely retained. Alarm may be unlocked. (Right-click the ‘Devices’ button to reset the connection)
On or near line 2:

I can move the laser position around a small corner near home position, but beyond that I get this message.
Brand new at this & getting very frustrated

Are you ever moving the laser head by hand? If so, avoid doing this as the controller then has no idea where the laser is located and can lead to thinking the laser will travel beyond the frame of the laser.

If you’re not moving by hand then can you run the following commands in Console one at a time. Please return output:

$H
$I
$#
?

Note that the first command will home the laser so be prepared for it.

Sorry for the late reply - I’ve been sick and couldn’t get back to my machine.

I tried everything you said and nothing has changed. I still get the same error code

also, I did not move it by hand

Those weren’t fixes. Those were requests to run commands and to return the output for further evaluation.
