Any advice on how to "float" inner cutouts in letters?

I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask.

When designing projects that I can “mass produce”, such as xmas ornaments, assembly time and alignment is critical. The letter “O”, for instance, can’t have the inner circle floating, as that takes time to position, to glue and can move out of alignment. The obvious solution to me is to add bridges (not to be confused with LB bridges!), as have been used in stencils for ever. Have you solved this in a different way that eliminates the bridges?

A nice stencil font is probably the best solution.

After a lot of experimentation I found an interesting approach.
