I am new to laser engraving. I had my laser up and running regular size 410x410 it started acting up and would go through the motions but not actually engrave. I started testing different places on the frame. It engraved on opposite end from home I had been trying to work with seller, whom without warning is gone 3 weeks. I decided to install the extension kit and
Have it ready except, when it homes it vibrates until Imanually turn off limit switch.I added this switch that came with kit. I feel like there’s something I need to change in my console but need advice. My area now is 410x750 I changed these settings. Thanks in advance for any help!!
So, you had a problem then added another dimension.
Do you have original problem, plus a new problem, or did you solve first problem and now have new problem, or now have two problems?
I fixed original problem by adding extension kit. When I removed original rails I found a broken belt.
My only problem now…I can’t use home at start if I do when it gets to limit switch it vibrates until I manually turn it off by touching it.
Then you need to adjust switch.
Turn off machine and move head and see if it is tripping switch.
That didn’t help. I unplugged the limit switch and it still vibrates.
How do I adjust switch?
I have the same machine (Ikier brand, just cosmetic differences) with the same extensions.
Other than homing, the machine operates correctly?
I would expect unplugging the switch to cause (or not eliminate) the grinding. No surprise there. You say pressing the switch by hand stops the homing cycle, correct? If so, it seems the switch and wiring are OK. That leaves a mechanical problem of some kind. Possibly a mislocated switch or something preventing full travel.
Which switch is it? Machine is still attempting to home bottom left, correct?
If you’re not sure, you can type these into console one at a time and report back the behavior.

The first will home x only. The second will home y only. One should fail if I understand correctly.
Ok, thanks everyone. I took out limit switch, and turned it around. Opposite of what manual showed. Now it is working fine. I have a love, hate for this laser. When it’s working it performs beautifully. Unfortunately it’s been down a lot. Thanks again!! You guys are awesome!!
