Hi, I own an Atomstack A10 Pro with Lightburn. I tried to cut a .25" wood plywood panel but it was unsuccessful. Tried several passes, different speed and laser percentage. Can somebody give me any instructions about the correct setup to cut it. I really will appreciate any help. Thanks
1 - Probably not the case, but who know… check that your “S max value” is equal to $30 parameter of your laser.
Type in $$ in console than in “Menu->edit->device settings” at the bottom right, check that “S-max value” is set to the same value of your $30 GRBL parameter, if it iset to 255 and your $30 value is 1000 you are only using 1/4 of the power of your laser.
2 - Set your focus 3mm lower (center of what you want to cut) may help
3 - Use air assist
3 - Check “constant power mode” in layer settings
As a starting guide for your settings, for 20mm of raw pine, with the Atomstack X30, I use : 12 passes at 1000mm/min 100%power + air assist, (it can be done in less passes, like one passes at 75mm/min, two at 150 mm/min, etc… but it make cut look burned), it depend on the finishing you want to achieve, the thickness and the material composition itself.
Note on Atomstack : they dont seems to be very worried with support, firmware and other… the X30 firmware isn’t yet available, and having dumped it from the motherboard (ESP) and compared to the x20 it is basically the same with the same settings and no webui installed etc…
Thanks a lot for the information.
