I’ve been running LightBurn version 1.4.01 for quite some time without issue. However, over the past month, I’ve encountered a recurring problem — each time I restart my computer, the software automatically updates itself to the latest version. Unfortunately, this results in me being locked out due to licensing restrictions, forcing me to uninstall and reinstall version 1.4.01 manually.
I’ve already ensured that the “Automatically check for updates” option is disabled within LightBurn’s settings, and I’ve also verified that Windows isn’t forcing updates at the system level. Despite these precautions, the program continues to update itself upon reboot.
Has anyone else experienced this behavior or found a reliable way to prevent it?
This is not happening to me using Win10, so it could be a Win11 setting. Normally, if the update is downloaded, it will just sit in the Downloads folder and wait to be run at a later time.
I have fiercely resisted the Win11 upgrade, so I cannot tell you where to look for a possible setting. I did find this info to get you moving towards a solution.
Lightburn does not automatically initiate the execution of the installer. This is done either by you or Windows.
