How do you select a group of lines and have them automatically space evenly like 1/4" apart (resembles like a ruler)?
Select what you want to make steps/copies of, then use the Create Grid Array tool in left toolbar:

If you have a set of existing shapes, you’d use one of the ‘Distribute’ functions.
