I am not sure I know how to ask the correct question…I would like to use Millmage to make a wooden spoon. I have tried carving a number of spaced circles to make the “bowl” portion of the spoon, and while it works, It is often not shaped as I want or requires so much sanding that it is not worth the effort. I know what I want the tool to do, I do not know what commands I need to use? Or is this an issue with Millmage not being a full 3D program (yet)? Any thought would be greatly appreciated.
Bingo! MillMage has not released a full 3D version yet. It is currently being tested and is looking pretty good so far.
Also be aware that 3D and V-Carve are both Pro features and will require an upgrade from Core to Pro license.

That’s actually a very good question ,
i guess the easiest would be if using pro , would be having a depth map of the spoon and 3d carving
ive started playing around in photoshop cs6 very old version making depth maps with mixed results ,
apparently there are some good AI sites that will do it, id rather try it myself keeps the old noggin working
if just using core im thinking use fluting will take bnit of time to draw it up
I have been trying a variety of approaches. Most look like I cut a hole in a spoon shaped piece of wood. I have not yet tried fluting…and I agree, I would rather do it myself…thanks.

there will be a way to round out the edge where it is ssquareish using flute maybe change lines to a diamond tatch , you will see it in preview , i drew one line in center than create grid array one way than reselected that group then went other way , slow part is deleeting all the over lapping lines . brainss not playing ball thiss morning there will be a quicker way to acheive it

ur welcome , you just using standard flute, i wonder how one of those , think they call them bowl bits would go for a finishing pass once its all roughed out ,
hmmm maybe try profile cut on outlir with 60deg tapered ball nose might sort that flat spot
