Base project with multiple designs

I have a few “base” projects that have multiple arrangements of all the project designs.
I can change the name or center logo, etc.
Is there a way to keep the basic design and have all of the interchangeable parts “outside” of the design so I can quickly move them in or out of the design and not have the parts that are outside the design be part of the design? (That sounds weird)

Basically, I have a circle 4" dia that can have multiple designs inside of it. I keep them stored outside the circle for ease of creating the finish product. I only want what is inside the circle to burn. But I do not want the stuff outside the circle to burn.
Does that make sense now? (I can do this in V-Carve)

In the laser window, turn on “cut selected graphics” and just select what you want to burn.

Put the shapes you don’t use on a layer (or layers) with Output off.

Ahhh!!! didn’t think of putting every object on a different layer!!
