newbie question…have slugged my way thru other various puzzles with help from forums, but this one has me stumped.
Just trying to create a basketball(outer dimension cut) on mirrored acrylic, and fill/etch the inside lines, but offset/fill are keep wanting to fill in the panels instead of the lines.
Taken from a screenshot of a screenshot - so the overall quality is very low.
This is the WHY = you have lines that are not joined. Those gaps will throw off the FILL and OFFSET fill logic.
The HOW to remove those gaps, there is the question for the hive mind. This is a very common issue when taking an image and trying to make a (vector) object for filling. We will get you a good answer. +1 BTW for having the screencap in your first post of this thread. That helps us.
I even considered creating it from scratch, but my line/arc skills are quite lacking…even tho the outside circle and one vertical-line seemed easy enuf ?
Use the original.png as a background, then lay the lines by hand over the top. Move the image layer up the list in your curts/late years window. Hand draw the lines on a different layer (set to FILL) to check if that shapes are closed.
Use the node edit tool to nudge the shapes until they match the shape on the image layer.
Lots of ways to get a result. Don’t be afraid to try them all.
