I have read the few threads I can find on the issue of the bold not working on fonts on the Mac OS. So far I have seen a maybe it’ll get fixed in a future update…
I am currently on Big Sur, and, well, I was wondering if there has been any movement on the issue?
In the meantime if I really need to use the bold version, I am creating a vector in illustrator of the font and importing it into the project. Its cumbersome, but, it works.

Yes, this is a know issue with the Qt framework we use and changes to the newer versions of MacOS. We continue to investigate potential resolution options, as we are not happy with the current tradeoffs.
Thanks for replying to this thread. I will keep an eye out on any updates. I just upgraded to a MacBook Pro and using Mac OS. I would really love to be able to use the other fonts within the font family again. Thank you in advance🙏
