Bottom Layer Row Keeps Disappearing

I run 2 DELL Precision M6800 laptops. One is just to comfortablly create the project on, the other is connected to my Ortur Laser Master 3.

I have no issues (to date) with this issue on my OLM3 Laser. The issue is with my creator computer.

What happens is that the bottom 2 rows, Layer Row, and another with a few Radio Button Slides.

This slowly disappears below until I can not see it any longer!

I do believe this happens when I am zooming in and out of project, trying to center, zoom into, or zoom out of a project on the go. From time to time, when I look down to drop something to a new layer, my buttons are gone from sight.

Does anyone have an answer as to why this happens on this computer, and not the other identical one, which is connected to the OLM3?

Thanks for all assistance in this matter. Oh, and I just updated to 1.3.01.

Is there a way to include screenshots with these posts?

Either drag and drop the screenshot to the post editor or push the upload button on the post toolbar.

Finally figured how to include this image. Thanks for waiting around!
P.S. after a reboot of the program, my bottom row has returned (for the time being).

Is that a full screenshot? Do you have anything unique in your display setup? Multiple screens or a virtual display or something? 900 for your vertical resolution would be a bit unusual.

Can you describe in what way the bottom disappears? Is it all at once or does it gradually shift?

Can you make sure that the “Cut Palette” is enabled in Windows menu when this occurs?

Yes, this was a full screen capture, and not a screen cropped image. No, there is nothing special on this laptop, nor the one which operates the OLM3. Both are identical.
The latter is correct for the disappearance of the bottom. I think I see it jiggling, as it finishes a task, then I’d say 1/3 of it goes away, or shall we say the main screen grows by that much. It can take a few tasks for the bottom to drop off like that. I do believe that it mainly happens with mouse wheel zoom in zoom out.

Is that what the MOVE, SIZE, ROTATE, SHEAR line is (Cut Palette)? I will verify that this is selected in the WINDOW Tab, the next time this happens.

With fingers crossed, its finished getting funky! It has behaved as of late for me! I will keep all posted.
P.S. I finally was able to get my laser to light during a framing function! (the radio button was OFF).

No. It’s the colored squares used to pick the layer.

That’s really odd. I don’t think I’ve heard anyone report anything similar.

Excellent. Small victory by small victory.

If your graphics has a gaming mode, make sure it’s turned off…

Thanks Jim, but these were wiped computers upon arrival (Canadian Space Agency’s retired laptops). So I don’t think a game has ever been played upon them. But, I shall check, just in case just to ensure there are no stones unturned! Thanks for this insight.

Well, what the heck, eh? Yes Windows of course optimizes this computer for XBox and all other gaming situations! Who knew? Well I guess YOU sure did! Thanks again Jim!

No worries, glad to be of service. Just mark this as solved when you’re happy the issue is fixed…
Happy cutting Christmas :christmas_tree:
Jim…

Fair enough Jim. Since this my first post here, I’ve made a simple bookmark in my Lightburn area just in case I delete this page (or a failure beyond my control), so I can make a mental reference that I ensure this subject is closed before the end of the year, if it does not duplicate itself from here.

One of the “wiped” Optiplexes I got from Dell displayed a nice Lockheed logo during the first boot:

I always wondered what it did during its previous life …
