Bug: Variable Text not aligning correctly

Multi-line Variable Text - Vertical Alignment

Working with a CSV variable file. Is there a way to vertically align the merged text with varying numbers of text lines or fields? e.g. a tag merging either 2 or 3 lines of text. When it merges it keeps the trailing carriage returns for blank lines and does not align vertically. If you bake the variables it gets the clear space trimmed correctly.
