Build something higher than my Z max

I need to built something that is 20 cm high and my Shapeoko have a Z max of 14 cm.

How would you do this?

Unlike lasers where you can lower the table or raise the frame, a CNC mill is not open to either of these options.

To solve your problem, you need either a larger machine or are willing to “slice” the project into managable layers and glue them together. I am sure you understand how much care must be taken to get everything to align when assembled.

EDIT: I looked at the Shapeoko online and see you might be able to raise the entire machine up by using 2x2 lumber or thick MDF under the rails. However, you would still me limited to the 140mm travel of the Zaxis.

Can you remove the spoilboard and mount the materials lower?

Here is what I have to build.

Looks like a UFO.

You do know MillMage is not a 3d contouring package, yet?
