Burned image smaller than the image on

Hello All,

I have an Sculpfun S9 laser using lightburn. When i frame and check the position and points of the image on to what im burning it on to e.g wood or slate the burned image always appears a little smaller than it should have been.

The image always appears about .5 or 1cm smaller than it should be

What could be causing this ?

Is this a new laser?
If you cut a 1" square what does it measure?

First, check your firmware settings. Show the output of the $$ command in the console window.
Then, as Dskall mentioned, do a test where you have an object of exact size, like 100x100mm, engrave this to a test piece and measure the result. This will give you an exact measure of the error, not a “feeling”
