Look at the Preview window and see if it is showing double lines. If it does then it is likely part of the font you’ve chosen.
You did not mention what machine you have or anything about your laser cutter so only making guesses… With CO2 lasers which have a cone air assist nozzle on the laser head you will get double images when the mirrors are not aligned and the laser beam hits the inside edge of the cone and reflects causing a split beam.
