Buying a new laptop

Buying a new laptop. Very new with Lightburn and Atomstack. Limited budget. what are the minimum requirements for the laptop to run Lightburn without issues? Thx

Pretty much any laptop will do. Screen resolution was my only problem. Getting windows to dock and losing layer palette at bottom.

I use a 10-year-old ThinkPad. Works perfectly fine. Though, don’t use Chromebooks, I think those don’t work well with LightBurn. Any Laptop running Windows will do.

If you like using Chromebooks and Linux, go right ahead. I’ve used Chromebooks exclusively and without real issue for years… primarily nicer Acer and Samsung with Intel I3/I5 processors, 14"-15" screen, and 4G or more RAM. Put them in Developer mode to get at the Debian 11 (“bullseye”) underneath and download one of the LightBurn-Linux64-vx.x.xx.run images.

It’s been a year or two since I’ve gotten a new Chromebook but it’s possible you may need to install a library or two to get Lightburn to launch but, once done, it works like a champ!
