Hi, I have the expansion for our sculpfun laser with the size 935x400. And I am using a sculpfun honeycomp 400x400. But my honeycomp is starting at 467,5 in y-position.
When I calibrate the camera lense, the first part with the points works fine. Then when I have to put my sample in the middle of my honeycomp and and click on “Frame” the laser is driving his frame in the middle of my long side, not in the place as it is. I can’t choose this start position and also my camera is in the middle of the homecomp not in the middpe from the extension. How can I change this?
You can’t change this. You need to create another device for your laser using the 400x400 workspace and use this with the camera. LightBurn will ALWAYS center the alignment pattern in the workspace, no chance to change it. Here is an article showing how to do it:
Are all camera details stored to a device?
I want to calibrate my camera for different thickness wood. E.g: 3mm plywood, 5mm, etc
So when I change to a specific thickness then I can have a precise camera.
What is the best solution to do this? ( same camera, same laser engrave, just the wood thickness changes )
Thank you.
Hi,
thank you for your answer. I understood your “Positioning of the camera” in your pdf. But in my case the start of the viewing range is with an y-offset of 467,5mm. I nearly have no other change to fit it / to screw it. Is there no possibility to use this with LightBurn in such a way?
But this couldn’t be correct because when I want to calibrate it now, it middles my y-position. So the calibration area in the moment is in the middle of the y-area. It doesn’t starts at y=0.
I don’t think so. LightBurn expects the camera view to be in the center of the workspace. If you can mount the camera such that it aligns with the center perfectly, this might work as well. But no arbitrary position.
I might be wrong, but I think you need to wait for the (long-awaited) update on the camera features. But that could take some time until it’s released.
