Calculate burn area

I recently moved my limit switch after upgrading my diode laser. My burn area has now changed. Is there a way of running the laser for it to calculate your new area for you? I had a 400x400mm previously, but no clue what it is now.

No. This is something you’ll need to configure.

It likely doesn’t have a different work area. It probably just doesn’t know where your origin should be.

Some base questions.

  1. What laser is this for?
  2. Where were the limit switches initially? Where did you move them to?
  3. What configuration changes have you made to account for this?
  4. Can you run a homing cycle and then run the commands in Console. Return results here:

?
  1. Can you take a screenshot of Device Settings?

Ortur LM2 Pro - Upgraded with a Neje A40640

Front Left corner, had to move it forward about 5-7mm as the new module is bigger.

Ah… okay. I misunderstood what you meant when you said you moved the limit switch. I thought you meant you relocated the homing location.

To accommodate this you’ll need to shorten your Y max travel. If you take off 7 mm then:

$131=393.000

First switch your units to mm in LightBurn then go to Device Settings and make the same change for your Y axis, 393 mm.
