My camera use to show a good sharp image when i would click on overlay. But now has a blurry image and can’t see most line cuts. The camera was dropped when remounting it. I have redone the recalibrate camera lens and alignment with no improvement. Is there something else to try of do you think the camera od now fryed? this is a Longer Diode B1 30W engraver with a Longer furnished camera.
That may have dislodged the lens enough defocus the poor thing.
The lens probably has a threaded mount that was glued in place during assembly. The lens mount may be concealed by the plastic case.
I mounted this one on the lid of my CO₂ laser:
The lower screw bears on the lens threads to lock them in place: loosen the screw, adjust the focus, then tighten the screw.
Your camera will certainly be different.
Because the patient is already dead, you need not worry about whether it survives the operation: take it apart to see if the focus can be readjusted. ![]()
The camera is completely sealed so I took a small hammer and gently started tapping on it. After around 5 or 6 taps the focus came back. The lens must have fallen back in place.
Thanks Dave
Well played! ![]()
Relentlessly squashing diagonally opposite case corners in a bench vice sometimes works: the (hidden) snap latches pop open without destroying the case, although it might need a belly band of tape afterward.
All’s well that ends well! ![]()
