Camera only works when it detects movement

I recently purchased a the 8MB 4K-N camera for my Omtech 80W laser. Install was a breeze and it connected just fine to LB. The issue I have is the camera appears to only respond when it senses motion. I can update overlay once but cannot do it again until I move something in front of the camera or just move the lid of the laser up and down and live feed stays active.

LB ver 1.7.07 running on Win11

Here are some actions I did to try to resolve it.

  • Scoured the internet and this forum for suggestions
  • Sent an email to LB support
  • Tried both default and custom camera options
  • Tried both Full Color and Black and White
  • Tried with Auto Exposure and Auto Brightness On and Off
  • Tried different USB ports as well as with and without a hub or port replicator
  • Checked Windows camera setting to ensure LB was allowed and there were not other setting trying to control the camera.

I am out of suggestions and fear I may just have a faulty camera.. If that is the case then the other assistance I will need will be how to get in touch with LB if they do not respond to my support email.

If you sent the email to support@lightburnsoftware.com with a link to this topic, that should do the trick.

They occasionally take weekends off, which may introduce some delay. :slightly_smiling_face:
