Can I have two different versions of Lightburn on one computer

Every time I install a new version of Lightburn it deletes the pervious version, how to have an older version for testing purposes…

I run Ubuntu Linux and I have not only the beta release, but also the public beta and the standard release… I know they do it on various machines, including windows, so I’d expect you can too.

Don’t know about your windows machine, it’s likely you have to do it manually … not a windows person…

The install is so fast, why not just install a previous version.

That said, try this…

  1. Rename the existing Lightburn folder by adding an underscore in front of the name. Rename the shortcut to the same path. This will keep the installer from finding the existing version.
  2. Install the second version. Now you should have both available for use. You cannot use both to control the laser. The first one opened controls the laser.

With a Ruida, it appears you can. :man_shrugging:

Ethernet or WIFI, I bet. USB would be a disaster.

I think it’s because it uses UDP…

Thanks guys… Not a techie old man but will give it a go…
