Can someone help me edit this shape for this laptop/ipad desk?
(1) I want to raise the back of each of the two legs by 1.5 inches (this will provide a better angle for my iPad and Magic Keyboard while it sits on my lap).
(2) I also want to shorten the two nubs at the front of each leg by about 1/2 inch (they stick up too far). I can cut and sand, but would rather get the drawing corrected to begin with.
I have been trying and trying to do this in Lightburn but I just haven’t been able to find the right method. Of course, the tabs need to retain 90 degree angles in spite of the changed angle on the legs. Would much appreciate help from a Lightburn guru!
I think I understood the assignment. Try this. Edited14x11-Simple Laptop Stand for 6mm wood.lbrn2 (21.1 KB)
I used the node editor. Broke it apart at the junction of the back tab and upright as well as the inner corner of the front nub. Exited node editor, selected the loose piece, set the anchor point to the corner of the front nub and adjusted the angle with the degree scale. I used a 1.5" high square for spacing. Then connected the parts with a line and added a slight curve to it.
For the front nub I created a rectangle 1/2 high and placed it over the nub, aligning the angle. Then I inserted nodes at the 4 intersections and deleted the line segments in between. Deleted the
rectangle and grabbed the nodes on the loose piece and moved it into position.
