Cannot calibrate camera alignment

I’m using a LaserPro. On the native software it’s all good, everything works as expected. But Lightburn won’t let me calibrate the camera alignment. I’ll get Error 22 Feed rate is not set and also X Axis Error!ok

Any ideas? This is the print out from the Help Menu:

Don’t know if I’ll be much help…

It seems you didn’t follow the Lightburn Grbl setup procedure. Some of your values are not what is recommended.

You should also go over the Coordinate and Job Origin documentation. These will only take a few minutes but will save lots of explanation and time.

How did you setup the ‘Edit → Device Settings’

Might try the other M setting…

You need to learn to read these error messages…

The first is the error it encountered. Start with the first error and fix them as they come up…
You can look up the error code on the Internet “grbl error 1” It will usually tell you the same as the following line.

It’s saying that the data sent to it, or the ‘G-code’ data that required the use of a letter and a value and it did not find the ‘letter’… This happened ‘on or near line 4’ of the data.

Looks like the alignment g-code crashed your controller? Do you know what flavor of GRBL your laser supports?

What device type did you use when you created the device in LightBurn?

I just used the wizard during setup, didn’t change anything for my LaserPro.

Here’s the result:

1.1f should be well supported with the GRBL device type. Click “Devices” in the Laser window. Device type is on the first column with device name in the 2nd column. Confirm that the device type is GRBL.

Do other normal operations outside of camera alignment burning work?

Are you able to use jog controls as you’d expect?

I just deleted the device and then re-added it now. It wanted the 1.1 or older, so i switched to the normal GRBL.
I was able to get through the full calibration…but the image is upside down now?

You likely clicked on the alignment numbers 1-4 in the wrong order. Try the alignment again.

Even the image that was burned during alignment was upside down. I moved my origin to the top left instead of bottom left and that’s fixed the upside down thing.
Now just to get it actually burning things, when i hit “start” the laser head moves but then stops and doesn’t actually do anything

Yeah. Wrong origin configuration would do that. Since you didn’t answer about the jogging movements I thought this was sorted.

Wasn’t sure based on this if you were looking for help or if you were looking to explore on your own.

If you’re looking for help can you describe in detail what you’ve setup and what occurs up to the point of “failure”. Are there any noises, alarms, error messages? What happens to the status indicator during this time? What happens after this? Can you simply keep going or are you stuck in some way.
