Cannot get xTool D1 20w to behave

Hi-
I have an xTool D1 20W laser and I haven’t used it for a while. I have the latest version of Lightburn. I have forgotten more than I’ve learned and I’m sure this is user error.

I have a few simple objects and when I frame the project, the laser moves over in a rectangle that correctly outlines the area I want to burn. When I hit “Start”, it warns me that it might be out of bounds and when I proceed, it immediately smashes into the left side of the unit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is this happening during an engraving operation? If so, review the post linked here and see if that addressed the issue:

I’ve seen a number of similar issues on this forum recently. Go to Edit->Device Settings and review the Scanning Offset Adjustment area. Look at the Initial Offset values. If they are anything other than 0s then redo them with 0s for Initial Offset. This should resolve the issue. @Rick Could this be a systematic issue with how devices are being converted in a recent upgrade?
