Somehow my clumsy fingers enabled some feature which produces this symbol in the top left hand corner of the workspace.
I found that I can select by holding down the CTRL key while dragging. However, when I try to rotate the selected image with “<” or “>” (also when combined with SHIFT key), the image disappears.
The result is that I cannot drag to select items in the workspace. If I hit the Esc key, it disappears, but as soon as I click on any portion of the workspace, it reappears.
I can slide the entire workspace around, but I don’t even know what to call this shape. It’s reminiscent of “the artist formerly known as Prince.”
Yes, I think I had seen this issue once before myself – so my clumsy fingers must have been that wayward once before. I don’t even remember exactly what I was doing when it happened. The only thing out of the ordinary (for me) was to try the Preview (which I haven’t mastered yet).
The symbol stays stationary.
If I close the file and then open the file, it is still there.
If I close the program, restart the program, and open it or load it as a recent file, it is still there.
If I import it into an open file, it takes over that file.
However, if I open another file, that file is fine.
Somehow, I managed to get rid of it. I’m not sure what I did because I was just desperately trying things since I had to get that project done.
So, it’s gone and I can’t make it happen again – not that I’d want to do so.
Lastly, there were aspects of this anomaly which made me think that it probably had SOME kind of useful purpose – it didn’t seem like a random glitch. I could probably give a few more details if it would help (not to be too verbose), but I’m just glad it’s gone.
I tried to do an image search for this symbol on Google (which appears mysteriously in Lightburn) and . . . nothing. One would think it might look familiar to one of Lightburn’s engineers - unless MIB conspired with scientists in Area 51 to put it there and then locked away all reference to it in some X-File.

Please check Windows Control Panel > System and under the System heading look if Pen and Touch has a support for your device."
