…are there any problems with the forum?
I’m trying to write a short post and I get this…
AFAICT, the admins recently cranked the spam filters up to a dangerous chattering whine: they now flag some of my posts as “Awaiting approval”.
Based on the recent spam tsunami from Indonesia, professional spammers have figured out how to defeat simple regular expression scanners. More complex regex templates seem prone to catching the hashed filenames generated by the forum’s file uploader and word-based dictionary filters are easily evaded. ![]()
Obligatory XKCD, slightly NSFW:
I am certain any AI “solutions” will be worse. ![]()
It was also in this direction that I thought it could be, but thought with a picture attached the post would go through.
Must have resembled human skin color … ![]()
Yea…. I’ve been getting ‘approval waiting on about 8 out of ten of my picture posts…..
it is what it is !
Your posts have image titles that are strings of numbers, that look like foreign phone numbers. We flag anything with a phone number on it, because those are spam favorites.
I’ve asked if it’s possible to improve the filter so it doesn’t apply to the titles of images.
More broadly, yes, a lot of this is because of a recent flood of AI-generated spam.

The missing “direct” links to the LB website, the help pages and the license portal, up on the top line, will they come back?

…now I can’t even post this as a normal post, are there any secret codes we need to use or how should we write our post? ![]()
Yes @bernd.dk, there were a few hiccups during the latest forum maintenance; corrective measures are underway. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Can you please explain what you are seeing when trying to post? We have been adjusting the spam filtering over the last few days, in an attempt to reduce the number of false positives. Tell us what you are experiencing.
Hi Rick,
It’s great that the old top menu list with links will come back, thanks.
If you take a look at my first post in this thread, I get the same message even by writing very normal content, like the few lines from my last post here, regarding the menu top list.
I’m all for fighting spam as best as possible and have also deleted many spam messages here in the forum, but the filter is so tight now that it becomes a (different) problem.
Thanks for drawing attention to the original @bernd.dk. Just reread, I have not seen this An error occurred: Title seems unclear, most of the words contain the same letters over and over? messaging before. I will need to do some further digging.
We have recently cranked up the spam filtering used here and found a few cases where we were flagging unintended posts. We refined the filtering and went live with those adjustments at the end of last week, so this should help.
@bernd.dk, the message triggered in your OP is due to a setting known as the title min entropy, meaning “Minimum number of unique characters” in the title. I will look into adjusting. The forum platform, Discourse, has many threads about this confusing message, so you are not alone in this. ![]()
