I just updated to v2.0.04 on a Dell, Win11 laptop on which I have used Lightburn fine for years. I am now unable to vertically resize the program window. Because of this I can’t even fit the program onto a single screen of any of my monitors. It does resize horizontally but I haven’t even tried to use it yet because I can’t fit it on one screen.
IIRC, the v2 stuff had issues when it first came out and I reverted to an older version which worked fine. Are there still bugs being worked out with this?
This sounds like an issue we’ve seen on occasion with Windows PCs that have low screen resolutions - fortunately most of the time this can be fixed by pressing Windows Key + Up Arrow to force-maximize LightBurn to fix your screen.
If this alone does not solve the issue, please right-click LightBurn’s app icon, then select Properties.
Click the Compatibility Tab->Change High DPI settings. Turn OFF any setting in ‘Override high DPI scaling behavior’
Please let us know if after these two solutions your screen is still less than ideal, and we can diagnose further.
Appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately that doesn’t do it for me. I have tried it both with all options removed and tried most of them individually with no improvement this time. I do believe that setting fixed the earlier v2 stuff in the same vein that I also experienced before going back to v1.X.
I will add that I can INCREASE the vertical size of the window from default but can’t decrease it. The horizontal scaling works fine either way.
As far as this system having a “low screen resolution” it is 1920x1080. That may not be 4K but it’s always worked fine before v2 and this program window looks no different. It’s not like it is putting more stuff in the window and requires a higher resolution. In the past you can just resize the window to suit your needs.
That resolution is definitely supported. Can you provide us with a screenshot showing this?
It’s possible you may need to lower the number of sidebars you have on the side of the screen, if you have 3-4 of them open. Below, I have Macros, Console, and Laser tabs each with their own screen allocation.
For instance, when I have 3 panels open on the right here, I lose the ability to reduce the size of the window, because those panels cannot be compressed further.
Well…when I closed all sidebars but two I can resize it smaller. However, having to do that is nuts. I could fit the same sidebars in v1.X without issue. The way this is, I can’t have the Cuts, Laser and Move sidebars open at the same time. I use all those and always have…
We have some changes coming in the next release that reduce the size of some panels to try and make this possible once again.
The unfortunate reality is that all the features we add take up screen real estate, and its a balancing act of getting as much useful stuff on screen and making the UI intuitive.
