As the title states, I cant select shapes inside of other shapes in the latest version of lightburn. This was not an issue in the past to the best of my knowledge, and of course this bug happens right as my update license expires…
Hard to say from just watching the video but isn’t this because of layer order? I think the W is literally being obscured by the inner border of the Wisconsin outline.
Try changing layer order or even easier, just disable the “Show” switch for the Wisconsin outline layer before grabbing the W.
…everyone can forget to update their license, but it does not take many minutes to fix it 
regarding your select problem, it is best to send dselve file or the part that is affected by the problem so you can get the best help.
