In order to manually run a standalone pocket operation wherever you want, you would need to first move the pocket operation to where your project origin is, like this for example:
Now that the corner of the pocket operation is aligned with the green marker for the project origin, I can now jog the spindle to any location, set Workpiece zero and run the pocket job.
Is that some kind of bug? I had Mach 3 and Vcarve
. If I wanted to cut a round hole in various places, all I had to do was XyZ zero wherever the head was and it set the left bottom coord of the cut to the zero.
Is there a way to make the left corner of your cut be Zero, no matter where it is on your bed and board screen?
MillMage does not show the machine bed, it only shows the block of material you are working with, and the XY project origin can only be anchored in one of the corners of that material or the center;
If more flexibility is required in MillMage, you can move your shapes/operations relative to the origin.
Shapes/operations that are outside the material will still be valid, but you would need to disable “Ignore out-of-bounds shapes”, otherwise the shape would be ignored and not produce output:
If the project origin is set in the center, the operation can be set to any position relative to the origin while retaining the benefit of a full simulated preview;
Hopefully I have understood your question? Let us know what you need MillMage to do and why - the developers will appreciate your input, and are always open to suggestions.
