How did you treat it afterward?

Time heals all wounds!

I generally use corrugated cardboard for templates, test pieces, non-critical stuff, and things in the shop, where a little (more) stink won’t be noticed.

For anything going into the house], letting it sit for a day or two knocks the smell below objectionable levels.

I doubt that would produce enough pressure to push air through the channels, because they’re long relative to their diameter = plenty of drag. You’d also want the pieces stacked far enough apart to get air flow between them. Maybe playing the Devil’s Harmonica before the ozone treatment would improve the outcome, but it’d be tough to convince anybody else to pick up the tune.
