Change size all at once

Hi,
I have a drawing with multiple holes. Those holes are 1.3mm now. It turnes out this is to small. They need to be 1.4mm. Is there a way I can select them al and change them all at once?. They are also grouped in groups of 3. They need to stay in their positions (center).
I am doing it by hand now but if there is a better/easier way…

thanks and greetings.

@SIlverApe Aaron. I just tried this and I think it does what you want.

Resize one of the circles to 1.4. Select all the circles, selecting the 1.4mm circle last. Holding down the shift key, select “make selected items the same width” or “make selected items the same width”. Since it’s a circle, they both do the same thing. All the circles will be 1.4mm.

The issue will be gang changes to your groups. When a group is selected, you are changing the size of the group, not the objects contained within. Those would need to be Ungrouped first, then the flow @gwilki suggests would work.

Additionally, to keep things “…in their positions (center).”, remember to use ‘Center’ in your 9-dot control toward the right side of the ‘Numeric Edits’ toolbar.image

@Rick Tks for the additional info, Rick. I’m very new to Lightburn and was just lucky to figure this out. I forgot that the OP mentioned grouping them.

Another thing to consider…

If the shapes were all LightBurn ‘Primitive Shapes’ (native circles, squares, polygons, etc), and are all the same type the shape properties will let you change properties such as ‘Width’ and ‘Height’.

@gwilki Thanks, I forgot about that option
As @Rick said it does not work on groups. The shapes are primitives. Does your advice for the shape properties work on groups (not behing my laptop right now)?

greetings

@Rick Rick: I don’t want to derail this thread, but can you tell me how you get to the shape properties screen that you attached? I don’t see the width and height boxes in my shape properties window. Here is a screen cap of mine.

What do you have selected when taking that screencap?

You are looking at the same window as I am. My view shows additional information because of what I have selected. I have ‘Primitive Shapes’ selected, in this case, some ellipses. Here is a view when I select an Image.

@Rick Rick: I drew a circle in LB. I copied it twice. I selected all three circles, then right clicked and chose "show properties. .I don’t get the option to re-size that you showed in your earlier post. Here is a screen cap of mine,

Not seeing the issue when I do the same  .

Did you convert the circle to a Path? That would change the behavior and not allow what I am suggesting. If so, don’t do that.

  • Draw an Ellipse
  • Select Ellipse and Copy using CTRL-C
  • Paste copied Ellipse two times using CTRL-V
  • Select all 3 Ellipse with Shape Properties window displayed.

My result in the image below. All shapes will need to be in their primitive state for this to work, allowing all of the same primitives to be adjusted at the same time.

The multi-editing of common shape properties for rectangles, ellipses, and polygons is new for the 0.9.17 release. It was supposed to work that way from the beginning, but didn’t.

Oh, my bad. Letting the lil’Secrets out again am I. I did not go back to the current public release to ensure this was working as expected. Thanks for the clean up on this Oz.

@Rick Sure, Rick. Tease me with stuff that I can’t use. :grinning:

At least we both now know that I’m not cracking up.

Tks to you, Oz for setting us straight.

 :+1:

But to be fair…

I blame Oz.
