I am not sure if this is the software or if I am doing something wrong.
After saving the file and reopening it the speed is changing terribly.
In the sample the layer name is what it is supposed to be, as you can see there is a significant change. I am perplexed.
The difference is exactly the difference between mm/sec and mm/min. It’s possible you were inadvertently working in the wrong mode when you created the file and now it’s in the correct mode and Lightburn made the calculation.
I have also experienced having one mode showing but the laser operating in the other. I had to go to settings and change the mode and back again to get it working correctly, but I have both a diode and C02 on the same computer.
Looking at layer labeled at 1000/20 and the Speed/power results, looks like it was designed with INCHES/min and the setting is for mm/min 1000in = 25400mm
Yup, you hit the nail on the head.
I installed a new MECPOW 10W laser, and even though the previous laser was set for mm, Lightburn must have set it to IN.
