Chromebook & Mac - different laser intensity

I’ve been using Lightburn on my chrome book with linux and it has been working really well, just the chrome book was slow. Recently I decided to upgrade to a mac mini to run my laser. I made sure all of my light burn settings on my mac matched with those on the chrome book. So far, everything has been working exactly like it did on the chrome book, however, the laser intensity isn’t the same. 100% power is way stronger on my chrome book Lightburn then on the mac Lightburn. The only solution I’ve seen on the internet is to make sure the S-value max on Lightburn matches with the laser machine settings. This didn’t solve the problem though. I’m wondering if there’s any big differences between mac os Lightburn and linux Lightburn that I’m missing or if I just have a setting wrong.

I’m using a NEJE laser
Lightburn 1.2.01 on both computers

Thanks,

They should behave exactly the same. Can you take a simple design on the Mac side and then use “Save gcode” in Laser window and save to a file with .txt extension and then upload here? Ideally you could do the same with the Chromebook but the Mac side is the essential one.

I don’t see anything inherently wrong in the gcode in terms of power. One thing to note is that the speed is specified in mm/s so 400 mm/s in this case. Is that how your Chromebook is setup or are you using mm/min there? 400 mm/s is 24,000 mm/min which is likely way too fast for any operation.

Shoot, you are completely right. I didn’t catch that the chromebook was set to mm/min.
Thank you!

Okay great. I was about to respond to your earlier post just as you updated it. Glad that’s addressed it.
