Circle contra elipse

Why is´nt the circle the first choice to write then to write an elipse. I´ll say that in 99.99 % you write

a circle before you write an elipse

Thank you

Ulf

What do you mean?

If you want to try an ellipse or circle, just press ctrl+e and start drawing. If you hold down shift while dragging, you always paint perfect circles. That’s how it works in nearly any tool I’ve used so far.

The following is worth a quick review.

The same rules apply to the square and rectangle.

From what I understand, this user uses the tool 99% of the time to draw perfect circles. Therefore, the option of having to press keys in addition to the mouse to draw a circle is somewhat inconvenient.

I believe that if the user realizes that when drawing a circle he have actually chosen to draw an ellipse with equal length and height, just like a square (as mentioned by @MikeyH, which is actually a rectangle with equal length and height) and repeats this procedure countless times, it becomes easier to understand why the tool prioritizes the ellipse or rectangle over lines of equal length and height. And this is something that applies to all polygons.

I’m not a draftsman, but I would add that all drawing software works on this same principle. (equal length and height is a coincidence).

I hope this helped.
